The first thoughts; I have only played bass guitar for less than a year now, and practised very rarely, though i always make my own basslines up...I often pick up a guitar when less than sober, sing and play, my singing voice is terrible, as you will hear from my tracks, recorded after one take, and spoken rather than sung...
All my song lyrics have a rather personal history behind them, I will go through my experiences concerning each song in later blog entrys.
All tracks recorded at a friends home on the computer.
Please leave any comments, abuse, praise, questions or otherwise will be much appreciated.
This a personal project, all songs written, arranged, played, recorded and mixed by Legal Muslin Joan. I hope to progress with my music in the next few weeks or maybe months and will add the bare raw demos as I go along.
Thank You for listening!!

I have ideas in my head chord structures n so on, but at the moment no chance to record anything...I should take time out to do some writing, perhaps I will in the next few days but there's no comparision to recording stuff, but need discipline; of course, ITS RAW!!! perhaps I should work on my vocals for the current tracks, take after sweaty red faced take, put more PASSION into it...and ignore the tweeting of the lovebirds and the crunching of food in friends teeth as they sit there watching me play....am currently just writing loads of entrys into this new blog tonight, its really 8:30 here in England, so must change time on this...
best mix at the moment, Her Nothing, inspired by a man I once thought I loved...

new track, Who As I, vocals? well they are diabolical, must find a singer, only did two takes of my singing, perhaps better if spoken, purely...will put song on my other site soon...as cant put them up here...Lyrics to Who As I;
Who As I
the house is too heavy
the walls are falling round me
the paint is coming off me
my hair is falling out
you are a man who as i
got cold, got sleepy
you are a man who as i
got old, got weary.
the room is pressing down on me
my feet cant find my heart
I feel i wanna strangle him
he is tearing me apart.

I am influenced by him, by her, by muslin, the connotations of muslin that differ, a white cloth used by another time, world of folk, paganism, lost love, religious fever, sorrow... I am influenced by the lonely sounds that burr and click in the kitchen as I write, I am influenced by wiccan prejudice, dark hair blonde hair red hair, I am influenced by the sounds my fingers make, on the strings...I am influenced by my time in a mental institution, all the letters and files kept about my mind and my life in a huge folder, (Sympathy No.9) I am influenced by violence, by vibratations of loss in the world...by bass sounds, by slur of medicated speech, by roar of chasms and rivers beneath the ground, by the raw art and the No Rules idea from the Surrealists to The Beatniks and forward.......to the Outsider....

Looking up Sympathy No.9 on the internet

Two new songs thought up tonight!
Just been strumming two new ideas...one had chords worked out yesterday and now has lyrics and a little arrangement, also simple basslines, hope they can mesh together. Pretty strange lyrics too and very sparse...Also, have an idea for the beginning of a song....but everything seems a bit disparate right now as I had recorded a bassline but had no other idea for it, though good to record as much as possible hopefully without waying myself down with odds and ends...my aim is too record as soon as possible each new thing, RAW! lol...then perhaps when I have had some feedback, go into looking at things a bit more and developing ideas.
As I said in my other entrys, this is a private expedition into music making, I am using the flimsi-ist guitars, the most basic recording programmes. I am not interested in becoming a rock star or even a folk star. Im good for a laugh. at myself.
(Nb. buying Nicotine patches tomorrow)
Oh, and tracks sound a little better with headphones on.
Tracks
must go to sleep now, forgotten how to spell, spent too much time on the internet. Tomorrow, I shall write.
